| Kannushi. He is a Shinto priest. Shinto is an ancient Japanese religion which believes in the existence of many gods known as kami. The kami live in humans, animals, mountains, rivers, objects and so on. At any time new kami can arise while others fall into oblivion. Japan was created by the Shinto gods Izanagi and Izanami who poked a spear into the sea – the drops that dripped back formed the islands of Japan. |

Every weekend he meets with his gang for a shinai boso, an illegal high speed mass rally through Tokyo, organized by the sento sha, the gang leader, whom nobody is allowed to overtake. He is a tough guy and would like to become a Yakuza member one day. |
| Loose socks. Loose socks are a fashion trend among school and high-school girls like her. She likes to wear them together with her school uniform but because her school does not allow her to wear them, she changes after school and wears them outside the campus. Her loose socks are mostly white, pretty long and usually worn below the knee. They are held up with a special adhesive called “sock touch”. |
| Kabuki. He wears the costume of the kabuki hero. Kabuki was founded in the early 17th century and was, in contrast to the noh theatre, the popular culture of the townspeople. Even though it was founded by a woman, all kabuki actors are men and even the women’s roles are performed by men, called "oyama". The individual kanji characters, read from left to right, mean sing, dance, and skill. |
| Otaku. He is a nerd – obsessed with the idea of collecting everything that is available and posessing all knowledge related to a certain subject. He likes playing video games and reading mangas – he is a specialist in his field and he likes chatting with other otakus from the otaku scene. Almost every scene and topic has its otakus: Manga otakus, fan otakus, internet otakus and so on. |
